How many years has the race been taking place?
The race began on February 12, 1995

Is the Austin International Half a Point-to-Point race?
Yes. The race will begin in North Austin and run into Downtown Austin, right in front of the Texas State Capitol.

Do you allow walkers?
Yes, walkers are encouraged as long as they are able to complete the course within the cutoff time. The Austin International Half formerly 3M Half Marathon course will remain open and completely supported for four hours. That’s a 18 minute per mile pace.

Am I allowed to wear headphones during the race?
Yes, amateur runners are permitted to run with music. USA TRACK & FIELD, the governing body of running events, amended the rule prohibiting headphones to allow them in non-championship events. It is very important that you remain aware of your surroundings while running.

Can I push a stroller?
No, for the safety of all participants, strollers are not permitted on the run course.

Can I run with my dog?
We wish we could allow it, but, no, animals are not permitted on the run course.
